Finding Your Chosen Family
One thing we've come to appreciate even more, over the last four years, is the time we have with family.
How true does that statement ring?
For some, nothing could be more true. For others, its more complicated. Whether estranged or their family is no longer living or that thread was disconnected at birth, many people are navigating adulthood without close family in their lives. Can there still be a way to source the guidance and support and comfort of a family structure, especially when pregnant? Pregnancy is a time that many feel drawn to more deeply understand themselves through the thread of their past generations.
One common way many adults, who feel lacking in family support, deal is through creation of a chosen family. A group of friends and mentors who create a safety net and community. Ones you can call on to go for an inpromptu hike, plan Friendsgiving with, or get together at the park to vent as your kids run amok. You might already have this collective in your life. If not, there are opportunities all around to find your people.
