WE ARE LOOKING FOR PROFESSIONAL, COMPASSIONATE DOULAS

 

Southern Maine families aren't the only ones that grow! We are always on the lookout for Birth Doulas and Postpartum Doulas who may complement our team.

AS A MAINE DOULAS APPLICANT, YOU ARE:

  • professional; whether you are coming from the corporate world, or graduate school, or a trip around the world, you are focused and authentic

  • compassionate; you may have given birth yourself or not, yet you are intuitive and sensitive to the human experience

  • self-motivated; you want to earn a living doing what you love, and are always striving to grow and learn

  • capable of providing non-judgmental support to all families. Maine Doulas fully support parents through any experience, regardless of birth or parenting choices. Individuals who consider themselves activists and saviors need not apply. 

  • available to fully commit to supporting families. While our model allows for flexibility in scheduling, on-call availability is essential in any doula career.

  • a team player, maintaining a respectful dynamic between fellow doulas, clients and their families, and all medical professionals. 

  • willing to commit to the Maine Doulas team. From Kittery to Mid-coast to Fryeburg to Mount Desert Island, we are looking for the right doulas near and far! 

  • a completed training is not required at the time of inquiry but must be completed before an offer is extended. For an offer to be extended you must have either hands-on experience or the equivalent, be trained and working toward certification. Training in birth and/or postpartum doula practices is what were looking for. We highly recommend ProDoula.com for training.

  • living in Maine, preferably Southern Maine and willing to drive up to an hour. Lewiston/Auburn, Kennebunk/Wells, Bangor, or Brunswick /Freeport areas areas are also great.

BY WORKING AS A MAINE DOULAS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, YOU:

  • can pursue your passion while earning a living wage.

  • will work with a group of passionate, excited professionals who encourage your constant growth, support you in your work and beyond, and provide you with every opportunity to succeed. 

  • are set up with a sustainable model of scheduling and on-call life so you are free to love your job and your personal life equally.

  • get to do what you love, while we do the rest - you support growing families while we take care of marketing, branding, finances, website management and more.

  • Why would you like to be an independent contractor with Maine Doulas?

  • What season of life are you in? (parent, empty-nester, enrolled in school, off the grid homesteader)

  • Where do you live and what radius would you be interested in serving?

Because of the volume of applications we receive, we aren’t able to give status updates. If, however, you are invited for an interview, you will generally be contacted within 2 weeks of submitting your application.
